Digital currency exchangersDigital Currency Exchangers (DCEs) are also known as independent exchange providers . They are market makers which exchange fiat currency for electronic money like converting e-gold into pecunix or convert one type of digital currency into another.Exchangers apply either a commission or bid or offer spread to transactions. Some digital gold currency accounts such as e-gold generally do not provide any knd of in-house service for purchasing their private currency. At this point, the usage of a third party -digital currency exchanger becomes inevitable. There are no specified financial regulations governing DCEs as they operate under self- regulation. But the Global Digital Currency Association (GDCA) which was founded in 2002 is a non- profit association of online currency operators, exchangers, merchants and users. They operate together to promote the interest of the industry and fight fraud and other illegal activities. Clients can also purchase DGC by using credit cards.
